With exams just around the corner students have started to ask me about revision sessions once they are on study leave. In the past when I have run such classes they have never been particularly well attended as students were reluctant to travel into College just for one class. This year I am considering doing it a bit differently … using TeamViewer.
TeamViewer is an application which allows you to hold virtual meetings across various computers and features screen sharing, audio, video, a file box and a whiteboard. You can arrange a meeting in advance and send students an invite by email (all they have to do is click on it and run the application). You can invite up to 25 participants which is more than some of the other online meeting applications which I have used.
You can even record the lesson using free software such as CamStudio and upload it to your school’s VLE to be accessed by all students.
I let you know how it goes!
